I don't frequently read fiction books and since having two small children I don't read much of anything at all these days, but once I opened The Mason Jar by James Russell Lingerfelt I could not put it down! I was drawn in by the transparency and honesty of the main character, Finn, instantly! His journey in life, love, and family actually connected with me in such a personal level I felt I wanted to carry on hours of conversation with him face to face!I don't care who you are or what season in life you find yourself in, I am confident you will LOVE this story as much as I did! You will laugh and cry, you will feel encouraged and walk away with little nuggets of wisdom that will keep you pondering for days to come, and you will fall in love and find healing in the pages of this book.

It's refreshing to read a sweet romance that is relatable and without cursing. I am pleasantly surprised by this book and on to Alabama Irish. It is a feel good read and hope Mr. Lingerfelt continues to write more novels.
This is a good book for anyone to read. It is a story about a young man trying to find his way, falling in love and being hurt when the love was not returned in the same intensity. I believe it all depends on where you are in your life what you will get from this book but it is a great story. I admit, there was a short area that I felt got too detailed and strayed from what I felt was the real story. As I continued to read I realized how it was all connected.
If you like books with characters that you would like to meet in real-life,and have a wonderful way of giving sage advice...advice that you can actually use in your life,you'll enjoy this book. I found myself highlighting parts to re-read so I could ponder its meaning. I actually read parts out loud to my husband because it was so heart wrenching the atrocities he wrote about. Read this book and see how blessed we are.And yes it all revolves a love story.
Wow, a tear jerker but a wonderful love story.
I read this in one day and loved all of it. It's a coming of age story for two young people who are in love but effected by life situations. Everyone currently in love or yearning for love should read this book.
This story will fill your heart with love, sadness, grief, joy...you will want to scream at Eden, go on a missions trip and never look at a mason jar the same again! Loved how detailed the author wrote setting up picturesque visualizations. Thought the book ended way too soon; but, maybe there will be a sequel!
Russell does not just give us facts about the relationships in the story, he lets us in on the movements of the heart! It's these movements that grabbed my heart and kept me turning the pages until I completed the book. These movements convinced me that the relationships would continue whether there was physical presence or not. And continue they did!

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book...actually read it in just a few hours but the "previews" had me expecting so much more of the relationship with the grandfather and more letters to and from. Great transaction, fast shipping.
